She always loved to perform, compete and choreograph. As a performer and choreographer, she has received many top awards at Regional and National Dance Competitions all over the United States, including a First Place Overall at a Las Vegas National Dance Competition, which she choreographed herself and a First Place Trio award. Carrie competed with group numbers, solos, duets and trios in many genres of dance.
She graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science with a major in Respiratory Therapy and Minor in Dance. In addition to her studies, Carrie was a member of the select “A Team” from the IUP Dance Explosion Team. During high school and college Carrie also coached a competitive cheerleading squad in North Huntingdon for nine years, in which she had previously participated herself from grade 4.
“I have always loved dancing since I learned to walk. When I started competing at age eight, I knew that dance would be a huge part of my life for the rest of my life. I always looked up to my teachers thinking one day that will be me, and now my dream came true! I love working with the kids. They light up my life and I love teaching them the things I have learned. Dance is a beautiful art and I feel I can express myself through my dance moves.”
